How We Grade
At MVP Grading, our assessment process is designed to be fair, transparent, and highly precise. We determine your card's final score by utilizing a comprehensive four-point subgrade system, ensuring every piece is evaluated with the highest level of consistency. We meticulously inspect each submission across the following categories:
-
Alignment (Centering): We measure the registration of the image on both the front and back of the card. To achieve our top grades, we adhere to a strict 55/45 front alignment standard and a 75/25 rear alignment standard, which is exactly on par with the industry's most trusted and rigorous grading services.
-
Corners: We examine all four corners under high magnification to check for any signs of wear, whitening, fraying, or bending.
-
Edges: We closely inspect the borders of the card for chipping, silvering, or rough cuts to ensure the physical integrity of the card remains pristine.
-
Surface: We carefully assess the card's front and back surfaces for scratches, print lines, indentations, loss of gloss, or any other factory or handling defects.
These four critical subgrades are then calculated together to generate the overall final grade, guaranteeing that the number on your crystal-clear MVP slab represents a true and accurate assessment of your card's condition.
